My name is Puja, and first I just wanted to start off with telling you how I stumbled upon this blog creation. I’ve always thought I was a left-brained person, but recently, as I’ve grown more as an individual, I’ve realized I’m naturally a right-brained person that’s just trained herself to be left-brained as well. Currently, I’m a pharmacy student (soon to be graduated pharmacy student, eek). I really enjoy it; I get to do something I love, help others. But pharmacy, being a science field, does not allow much room for creativity. My life has been lacking a lot of creativity. I’ve started on many projects, some have been completed some are still pending. I don’t know about you, but that’s been a norm for me during the past few years.
I really want to continue one of my passions, designing clothes and creating outfits. But like I said some of the projects are incomplete, and you can’t wear a half finished skirt, it’s just not proper. Although, it would make for a great story :-). I blame it on being too busy with school, but we all know we are capable of doing anything if we really set our minds to it (sorry if that sounds too cliché). This is why I really wanted to figure out the reason I could never finish a project in full. I finally came to the conclusion that I’m just afraid. What if it doesn’t turn out how I wanted? What if I can’t meet mine or others expectations? What if I begin my journey with design, but nothing comes about? And so much more. I’ve literally struggled with this for a few years now, but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I need to at least try. Can’t I just give myself that chance? Try to complete a project. If it doesn’t work out well, try again. I’m only hurting myself by not trying.
So that brings me to the purpose of this blog, my journey to try and begin and hopefully continue my designs. Of course, like any other blog I’ll post random tid bits here and there. Some things I’ve been thinking about include outfits of the day, collections, things I really love at the moment, DIY crafts, smart buys (if you ask my friends they’ll say I can be pretty very frugal at times, but hey that’s only got me more clothes for less!), and much more. I guess what I’m saying is I haven’t really figured out the structure yet, but will just go with the flow and hope the blog finds itself through my posts. One thing I’m sure about is I’ll be posting new clothing designs and the finished product every week or every other week depending on what I’m creating. I’m not a pro at sewing, I can do the basics so this will be a fun learning process. The first item won’t be completed for a few weeks as I left all my stuff at home and I’m currently at school (smart I know..), but after that I’ll be on my normal schedule, which will be posts on Mondays and Fridays, minus this exception post. I was just too excited about this blog to wait until Monday!
If you’re curious to see what I’ll be up to follow me or not, that’s okay too! I’ve also added my Twitter and Instagram accounts if you’re interested to see what else I’m up to. Anyways, thanks for reading this incredibly long post, hopefully it didn’t bore you. I hope it inspires you to go out and try something you’ve been longing to do! If you want, I’d love to hear what you guys are all trying; it creates more inspiration for all of us 🙂
ps. if you’re curious about my blog name “emerveille,” I created it long ago for other accounts and it just stuck. It means “marveled” or “to be amazed” in French, and I think it just describes what I want to do. I want to be amazed by others, as well as my own work; to see what we are all capable of and the positive impact we can have in our world.
